Let's make a better society together...

The first question that everyone will have is "How". Here is my earnest attempt to mention few gateways through which we can fulfill our objective, please read through the same and let us know your comments if you think of any better options. we are here to share the knowledge and details whcih will help ourselves:

Being a social person, I believe in social cause and think that we all should put our efforts towards unlifting our society in the global Economy. But the task does not get executed if is being asked to few friends or to some social group.... These initiatives should come from your inner self, which gives you a drive. I have seen many of my friends telling me that they didn't do anything over the week-end and took rest at home. My suggestion to you people is, one day you all can go out and have fun.. and the other day, you can reserve for your social cause. See most of the new generation folks have that drive, but don't seem to have the exact direction.
Driving without direction, lead you nowhere.. and you might land up into noman's land. Even we can not rely on Government, due to lot more corruption, very less transparency and irresponsible people at the desk. Now what should be alternatives? How will we be executing our social responsibility?

The first option whcih everyone can look for, is some NGOs which are already in operations these days. It's a huge list but here is the list that I am aware of which are operating in India with global reach whcih is mostly needed:

1. Asha Foundation (http://www.ashaf.org/)
2. Akanksha (http://www.akanksha.org/)
3. CRY (http://www.cry.org)

Now the question is how much reliable these organization are? How much should we trust on these? OR should we create a new one?

Now if you ask me, I will recommend you to join the existing NGO as you will have all the infrastrusture in place, so you don't have to spend more time exploring all the required infrastructure details.. You can really focus on your social cause.. ...Also to these organisation, nothing is mandated, so you are free to join and contribute, if you like, you can continue or you can discontinue....There are different way by which you can contribute.. Financially, Beign Physically Present, by sending your Team Members, etc... but I would prefer more if you could physically be present by yoruself...

To be continued.......

Hrishi - Its worth reading this blog. We have soething simmilar in Goldman Sachs which is called as Community Teamworks which most of the folks in GS use it to add credits to thier overall appraisal in the year (really greedy and mean). I spent one day in one such effort recently and it was good experience. After coming out of that one day social effort i felt more has to be done to improve not just the US but the overall global social needs. From your blogs perspective i would suggest if you put those NGOs as hyperlinks, people would be able to access them right away.
Thanks,
Manish
